Grant Lake is a reservoir located in California's Eastern Sierra region. It is situated in the Inyo National Forest and is part of the Los Angeles Aqueduct system. The lake is fed by the Rush Creek, which flows out of the Silver Lake and the Mono Lake Basin. Grant Lake was named after Ulysses S. Grant, who had a keen interest in the development of irrigation and water resources in the western states. It covers an area of approximately 1,800 acres and has a maximum depth of 115 feet. The lake is a popular destination for fishing, boating, camping, and hiking and is home to a variety of fish species, including rainbow trout, brown trout, and kokanee salmon.
